Are you struggling to decide which camera and lenses to purchase as either your first camera or as an upgrade to your existing gear? Professional photographer Paul David Smith will create a personalsied photography equipment recommendation tailored specifically to you and your photography progression.
Deciding which camera and lenses to purchase isn’t easy and there are so many different factors that come into play when making the decision which is the best camera to buy. These may include:
– What will you be photographing the most?
– How often are you going to be using your equipment?
– What is your budget to spend on camera equipment?
– Are you happy with entry level equipment or do you need better image quality and want to buy professional equipment?
– Can we find you any bargain lenses that perform just as good as the professional lenses at a better price?
Camera manufacturers have a lot of different marketing “traps” in what they offer, for example do you REALLY need the F2.8 aperture version of that lens which costs twice as the F4 aperture version? Will you ever REALLY use half a million ISO on that new camera body you are looking at?
Paul will ask you lots of questions about your photography, your current level, how you are currently using your equipment or what you aim to do with new equipment and put together a peronalised camera equipment recommendation which could end up saving you thousands of pounds in the long run.
He is currently happy to recommend equipment from Canon, Nikon or Sony cameras and he knows the line ups and lenses really well. He can also recommend other equipment such as studio lighting, tripods, modifiers, etc.
This photography equipment recommendation will require a short discussion on Microsoft Teams video chat for Paul to gather all the information he needs, this will be followed up with a list of equipment sent via email.
This is a recommendation made off of 20 years+ working day in day out as a professional photographer and these are Paul’s personal thoughts and beliefs as to what the best equipment you need at your current level is.

Marcus Allen –
I had no idea where to start when it came to purchasing a camera so I joined Paul on a video call to work out what was the best equipment for me. He asked me lots of questions about my what I was hoping to photograph going forwards, what I knew about photography and cameras in general and how I planned to use the camera equipment. A day or so after the call I received a comprehensive camera recommendation document which detailed Paul’s suggestions for camera body, lenses, lighting equipment, memory cards, tripods and so much more. I was really impressed with the level of detail that had been put into the entire process.
