Have you ever wanted to try your hand at urban exploration photography but not known where to start? Perhaps your not confident to visit abandoned buildings alone or simply need some assistance with getting good shots at them. Professional photographer Paul David Smith will guide you through this Urban Exploration Photography Experience.

Urban Exploration, or Urbex as it’s commonly known, is the exploration of man-made structures, usually abandoned ruins. The eerie atmosphere of the abandoned buildings will have your senses on high alert and seeing the mixture of history, graffiti and nature reclaim its domain makes for some fantastic photos.

On this 1-2-1 photography experience we’ll cover:

Camera Settings
We’ll look at the best camera settings for shooting in this dark, often contrasty environment. We’ll pay particular attention to Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed and White Balance.

Compostion
There is no better place to get creative with your composition than whilst shooting urban exploration locations. We’ll look at the hard fast photography composition rules, and then we’ll look at how to break them to capture some stunning images that tell your story.

Using A Tripod
It helps to bring a lightweight tripod if you have one. If you don’t own one then do not panic, we can lend you one and we’ll talk you through how to use them quickly and efficiently to get great shots in low light.

Putting Yourself In The Image
There is something about seeing a shadowy looking figure in an urban exploration shot that helps bring it to life. We often put ourselves in our shots and we’ll talk you through how we do it with little hassle.
